South African fashion is much different than Madagascar. South African is more long dresses and skirts. Although they both have very colorful patterns in their clothing, the style is much different. In South Africa, women wear the dresses of their ancestors. There are many different tribes in South Africa, therefore there are many different dresses.
Most of the dresses flow all the way down to their feet. The women in South Africa usually wear big head wraps. Head wraps in South African can mean a lot because of their ancestors that were once slaves. The head wrap could mean "head handkerchief," "head rag," or "head wrap." When their were slaves, they would always wear something to cover up their heads so people took the tradition many years and wear head wraps to this day.
